TAYNUILT village is ¾ mile away from Airdeny Chalets. There are mainline railway and bus services at Taynuilt village where there are good shops, hotels, golf course, tennis court and post office as well as Presbyterian and RC churches. There is also a challenging 9 hole golf course.


Only a short distance away is Loch Etive, where you can take a boat trip to the head of the loch and see seals and golden eagles. 
You can also visit Bonawe Iron Furnace, which was established in 1753 and is reputed to have made cannonballs used by Lord Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar.
Inverawe Smokehouse is a short distance from Taynuilt. It smokes fish in the traditional way and you can catch your own trout and visit the shop and tearoom.
Oban is 12 miles away. There are ferries to Mull and Iona and other isles of the Inner Hebrides. It has excellent shops, restaurants, an indoor leisure centre, 18 hole golf course, all weather tennis courts and bowling green. There is a wide variety of entertainment in evening. It has a Tesco super store, banks and cash machines.
Visit Cruachan Power Station which is excavated from the heart of Ben Cruachan. Visitors are conveyed into the cavern from the visitors’ centre by side of Loch Awe.
Explore the marine world through 30 close encounter glass displays at the Sea Life Centre near Connell. 
Go to Seil Island by crossing the Bridge over the Atlantic. 
Visit Easdale Quarry, An Cala Garden and Folk Museum
Go on a SeaFari adventure to Corryvrecken and Garvellach.
Visit Inverary Castle, the seat of the Duke of Argyll, and the award winning Inverary Courthouse and Jail complex.
Wander round gardens at Barguillean, Achnacloich, Ardchattan Priory, Crarae & Arduaine.
Take a walk through Inverliever, Fearnoch & Glen Nant forests.
