The Great Glen

The Great Glen spans 73 miles / 117km between Fort William and Inverness.  It can be driven in a couple of hours, or accessed by boat, or by cycling or walking which takes about 5 - 6 days. It should suit all levels of walker, most of the route being low-level and mainly following Canal towpaths and woodland tracks, taking in Loch Lochy, Loch Oich and Loch Ness along the way.

Interesting features along the route include Neptunes staircase, Invergarry Castle, Fort Augustus Locks, Urquhart Castle and more.
