Walking & Cycling: Explore the area on foot or by cycle using the network of marked footpaths or cycle trails. Tomintoul is at the end of a spur of the Speyside Way long distance footpath.

Glenlivit Estate: Visit the Glenlivet Crown Estate Information Centre ask the Ranger about walks, cycle trails and wildlife in the area.

Flora & Fauna: Investigate the region's wealth of flora and fauna, including the Ospreys at Loch Garten.

History: Visit the Tomintoul Museum and find out Queen Victoria's personal opinion of the village and much more about its history,

Fishing: Go salmon and trout fishing in the local rivers: daily permits are available from the Post Office.

Golf: Play golf at one of the excellent courses which are within a forty minute drive from Argyle House.

Whisky: Use Tomintoul as a starting point for the Malt Whisky Trail. You can sample world-famous brands at a number of distilleries and visit the only traditional, working cooperage.

Pony Trekking: Go pony trekking or take lessons at the Tomintoul Riding Centre.

Skiing: Visit the nearby Lecht Ski Centre which is excellent for beginners and families. Dry slopes are open all year.
