Ashfield is a 500 acre, family estate on the shores of Loch Sween in Mid Argyll. We can offer our visitors launching and mooring facilities if they wish to bring a boat, sea and hill loch fishing, lovely hill walks including good forest tracks. We are in a National Scenic Area where there is an abundant variety of wildlife - seals, otters, deer and many beautiful birds. It is a wonderful area for a holiday, whether you want to be energetic or just relax and absorb the gentle colours and shapes of the surrounding countryside. We have 3 self-catering cottages, one which is a former steading attached and one detached and one wooden log cabin.

Ashfield Cottage
2 bedrooms, sleeps 4 This detached, traditional stone cottage is half a mile beyond the farm, it's in a private location in the middle of the Knapdale Scenic Area. The cottage has an entrance porch for boot & wellies etc. A fitted kitchen/diner with all the usual appliances leading to a sitting room. A second sitting room has a conservatory leading off. Upstairs is a bathroom and two double size bedrooms. One with a double bed, the other with zip-linked beds which can be either single or a king size double.
The cottage has been fully modernised but still keeps it's original character. It has full central heating and is very comfortable. Full linen is provided together with towels. There is an enclosed garden with a picnic table with views over the fields and 2 minute walk to the
lochside. 
Millstone Cottage 2 bedrooms,
sleeps 4; has recently been renovated to a high and extremely
comfortable standard. Downstairs there is a fully fitted kitchen complete with dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, washing machine and electric and microwave cookers. This is open plan with a spacious living room. There is also a shower room and WC.
Upstairs there is a double and a twin bedroom. A cot is available on request. The cottage is very comfortably furnished and well equipped and is cosy in cold weather with heating and electricity included in the rent. Duvets with
complete linen, towels and tea towels are provided. All windows look out to the loch and surrounding farmland and are double-glazed. We also have satellite TV. We welcome well trained pets. 
Woodland Bothy
Log Cabin 2 bedrooms, sleeps 4. f you are looking for seclusion in a truly beautiful
and private place, our Loch Sween log cabin might be just the place for
you. Situated on it’s own in 45 acres of mixed woodland, it has
1.5km of coastline, private
jetty, slip and boathouse suitable for small boats. There are woodland
walks and two small connecting ponds which are frequented by a healthy
otter population and a lawn which is grazed by the resident deer. With stunning views across loch Sween to the Taynish peninsula
which is a nature reserve and the Isle of Danna and beyond to the Isle
of Jura it is a perfect place to look out for seals and watch the
sunsets which are amongst the best in Scotland.
