Balkissock Lodge offers luxury bed and breakfast in Ballantrae, Ayrshire, not far from Turnberry, Girvan and Stranraer. Once a farm, then a shooting Lodge, left empty for 15 years neglected and decaying, now restored to a comfortable guesthouse. Situated in the hills behind Ballantrae, its splendid location offers peace, stunning scenery - the perfect place to get away from it all. We offer comfortable ensuite rooms with full facilities; a conservatory dining room with views of the hills, garden, birds and wild life and the lounge is just big soft sofas and a log fire! What more could you want for? Food is our reason for being here - we love to cook for those who enjoy good food. There is a well stocked veg garden and salads and summer vegetables are grown for the table. The "girls" provide fresh free range eggs for your breakfast and bread rolls are baked fresh each day. All our food is either homegrown or locally sourced offering a wide variety of meat, fish and game as well as wonderful Ballantrae crabs and lobsters, Scottish cheeses and Ayrshire honey plus much, much more. On the doorstep we have Turnberry Golf Course, Culzean castle, Logan Botanical Gardens and the Galloway Forest to name but a few. This area is described as taking a step back in time with its slow easy pace of life - ideal for a relaxing break.
