Cawdor has a good pub and licensed general store/post office, open daily from 7am to 6pm and Sunday 8am to 5pm.  

Cawdor Castle is open daily from early May to late September and is well worth a visit.

Kilravock Castle
(pronounced Kill-rawk), the ancient seat of Clan Rose and now a Christian guest-house, is open to teas and visits on Wednesday afternoons if you phone first

You can make a good day trip to the west coast, Loch Carron etc, or to Fyvie, Craigievar and other castles in Aberdeenshire or else the Speyside Whisky Trail
