Kingston is ideally located on the coast of the Moray Firth, near to the mouth of the river Spey, with a host of attractions nearby offering something of interest to everyone. The local area is popular with golfers, fishermen, bird watchers, walkers and cyclists, there are also local stables that cater for horse riding. |

Just some of the places to visit while staying in the area ..... Kingston - on - Spey was founded in 1784 and named after Kingston - upon - Hull in Yorkshire. Dodsworth & Osborne, shipbuilders from Hull established shipyards at Kingston capable of building boats up to 500 tons with masts 60 ft high. In the early 1800's, Clipper ships were built here to service the tea trade from India. At nearby Spey Bay, The Tugnet Ice House, built in 1830, remains on view as a monument to the Salmon Fishing Station industry.
