Blackwater Hostel is in the centre of the scenic village of Kinlochleven surrounded by the Mamore mountains midway between Glencoe and Ben Nevis, an ideal stopover for walkers, climbers or those who enjoy the outdoors. There are high and low level walks, half hour to full day walks, all with great views. The hostel is suitable for groups large or small, families and couples. All rooms have en-suite facilities, TV and central heating. Facilities include large self-catering kitchens, lounge, dining and conference area & drying room. There is ample parking. We are situated on the West Highland Way, the walk that crosses Scotland from Glasgow to Fort William. Most water sports are available nearby. We can arrange fishing permits for the River Leven and hill lochs. Pony Trekking is available at nearby Appin. Winter sports are also available at the two nearby resorts of Nevis Range and Glencoe. The Village of Kinlochleven has a supermarket, newsagent, post office, hairdresser, hardware store and a bank which opens on a Thursday. There is a regular bus service to and from the village to Glencoe, Ballachulich and Fort William. The hostel is 200 metres from the ice factor - the world's biggest indoor ice climbing facility (850 sqm), featuring the UK's largest articulated rock climbing wall (1200 sqm) and includes cafe, bar & children's play area.
