Boreray & Boireach Cottages
in North Uist in the Hebrides are 2 traditional thatched cottages re-built to
the original design but incorporating all modern conveniences & comforts, in
a quiet location near to sandy beaches and unspoilt machair.
They offer self catering accommodation in the Scottish Islands for a romantic break away from it all.
The cottages each have 1 bedroom and are
situated in a quiet spot on the beautiful north-western side of North Uist, where traditional crofting mingles with present day life.
Both cottage are awarded 5 stars from the Scottish Tourist board and are newly renovated.
Tigh Na Boireach is a thatched cottage standing yards from the sandy shores and is within easy reach of miles of sandy beaches where one can walk at leisure on the unspoilt machair land, or watch the Atlantic rollers breaking on the dunes.
The cottages have a comfortable, tastefully decorated sitting room with TV, video and hi-fi. The main feature in this room is the restored Victorian fire-place which uses the latest real flame gas fire. The fitted kitchen has all the necessary requisites including refrigerator, washer-dryer, electric-oven, dishwasher and microwave. The central feature of the bedroom is a hand carved four poster bed. Other furniture set on the same theme are the wardrobe, dressing table, bed-side cabinets and a 3 drawer chest. Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are provided at no extra cost. Storage heaters provide the heating throughout.

The cottages are an ideal base for hill-beach walking, bird-watching, fishing and trips to all the Outer Islands. Lewis and Harris are reached by a one hour car ferry which runs four times daily in summer months. Causeways connect Berneray and Benbecula to North
Uist.
