Coming to Edinburgh by car |
Most people would say leave the car behind. Parking control in the City centre is strictly policed and traffic-hassle is the norm. Edinburgh has an exceptional transport system based on planes, trains, taxi-cabs & buses. The National Train Station is 6 minutes walk away [or by cab]. The National Bus Station is 4 minutes walk [£5 return from Edinburgh Airport]. The local bus stop is 2 minutes walk. Taxi-cabs [tel 228 1211) are cheap, courteous, clean, commodious and plentiful; [£14 from Edinburgh Airport; £75 from Glasgow Airport]. LOOK FOR the patio-garden basement below 21 Abercromby Place. PARKING rarely a problem outside 21B Abercromby Place. 1 ON ARRIVAL - find a metered space; buy
ticket; max. 2 hours = £2 |
