From South via M6 / A74
On the A74 take the A702 at Abington Services through Biggar, which
will bring you on to the A720 City Bypass. Go round both roundabouts
and join the Bypass where signposted Edinburgh South & East.
Leave the Bypass at the first junction marked Straiton Junction
and join the A701 where you follow the signs for the City Centre.
About 2.5 miles (4 km) after leaving the Bypass bear left onto the
main road called Craigmillar Park. Proceed towards city centre until
you reach the second set of traffic lights. Turn left into Salisbury
Place.
Continue on through traffic lights, into Grange Road. Turn left at
second opening into Seton Place. We are the first house on your left.
Your car can be parked in the driveway.
From South via M1
Take the A68 from Scotch Corner, through Jedburgh and Dalkeith. After
Dalkeith the road will merge with the A7 where you follow the city
centre signs. When nearing the city centre you will approach a large
roundabout under a rail bridge. Take the 2nd exit (City Centre A701
- Newington) and then turn right onto Craigmillar Park. Then as
for M6/A74 above.
Alternatively: Take the A1 round the coastal route and join the
A720 City Bypass as you approach the city. Leave the Bypass at the
first junction (Sheriffhall Roundabout) and join the A7 signposted
Edinburgh where it merges with the A68. Then as above.
From Glasgow
The M8 Motorway now terminates at a roundabout known as the Edinburgh
Interchange. On the roundabout take the third exit signposted Edinburgh
South & East and join the A720 City Bypass. Continue on the
bypass until Stration Junction, leave the Bypass and join the A701 as
for M6 traffic above.
From Edinburgh Airport
Follow the A8 trunk road to the "Edinburgh Interchange".
Follow signs for A720 Berwick and South then continue as above From
Glasgow.
From North M90
Follow signs for City Centre Princes Street, Berwick Upon Tweed A1
& East which will take you along Queen Street. Go right at the
roundabout (All Other Routes) and up Leith Street, keeping John
Lewis Department Store on your right. Go straight on at the traffic
lights and on to North Bridge, keeping the New Barmoral Hotel on your
right. Continue heading South, away from the City Centre, passing
South Bridge/Nicolson Street/Clerk Street/South Clerk Street to
Newington Road.
At the junction of Newington Road and Salisbury Place turn right into
Salisbury Place. Continue through the traffic lights into Grange Road.
Seton Place is the second turning on the left.
Alternatively, follow the signs for the City Bypass and proceed
as for Glasgow arrivals. This route is a little longer but avoids all
city centre confusion, especially useful if arriving during the busy
Festival period.
By Rail
Exit from Waverly Station by road entrance turning right up to Princes
Street. Cross over to the shops side for buses travelling East. Wait
at a stop outside C&A department store for buses numbered 3, 31,
69 or 80. Bus will immediately turn right onto North Bridge. Travel
along the main route until the bus reaches Newington Road. Leave the
bus at this point. Cross over to the opposite side of the road and
turn right into Salisbury Place. (There is a Royal Bank of Scotland on
the corner). Continue along Salisbury Place 100 yards to traffic
lights on to Grange Road. Seton Place is the second opening on your
left beyond the traffic lights.
Walking time after leaving the bus: 5 Minutes.
