Grieves Cottage is situated on the beautiful West Coast of Scotland, on the edge of Loch Hourn at the end of the road in the small friendly village of Amisdale. It offers an opportunity to enjoy the wonderful highland scenery, with views to the Isle of Skye and beyond. There are brilliant coastal and hill walks, with a "Munro" directly behind the village. Hill loch fishing may be available by arrangement with the estate, and there would be the opportunity to hire a boat to go sea fishing. Wildlife is abundant with a whole host of birds (golden eagles, gannets, divers and guillemots), animals (red and roe deer, dolphins and porpoises, otters and seals) in the area.

Heating and hot water are all electric and the cost is included in the price. The cottage is equipped with a pay telephone. Situated off the spacious hall, the sitting room with a stunning sea view across to the Isle of Skye and Knoydart has been recently re-furbished to the highest standards. The room has comfortable seating for 6 people with an original open fireplace and fitted carpet and a large window facing south west. The Old Post Office on the edge of Loch Hourn beside the river and Loch Hourn in the small friendly village of Corran, Arnisdale. The cottage has been rebuilt from the ground up and completed in August 2006. It is decorated and furnished to a high standard and has a wonderful warm homely feel.

Sleeping up to 4 people this cosy cottage offers an idyllic holiday for all the family including your well-behaved house-trained pets which we are very happy to accommodate. The environment provides peace and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it also boasts some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland with views across the loch to the Isle of Skye and beyond.

For the energetic there are brilliant costal and hill walks, giving you the opportunity to view the abundance of wildlife, with a “Munro” directly behind the village. Hill loch fishing may also be available by arrangement with the estate and a small boat may be available to hire to go sea fishing. Locally there is an old-fashioned shop, which stocks nearly everything, also a Pub / Inn at Glenelg 10 miles away. There is also a fruit and vegetable van visiting the village weekly and a ferry to Skye which runs from Kylerea near Glenelg during the summer months. The rates are inclusive of all heating, and linen.

Enquire about special rates for multiple weeks for both cottages during the winter months. It is the ideal place for writing, painting, walking, photography or simply relaxing.
