Return to Kirkton House's Main Index Bed and Breakfast in Cardross - Kirkton House

By Train
From Glasgow Queen Street (Lower level) take any Helensburgh bound train and disembark at Cardross (journey time about 40 mins)/  There is no telephone or taxi service at Cardross Station (1 mile from Kirkton house), so if you would like a Courtesy Car to meet you, please telephone from Glasgow to tell us which train you are on.

From the south and east
Follow the M6, A74, M74 and then the M8 for Glasgow.  We recommend staying on the M8 through Glasgow (rather than taking the old A82 Dumbarton road which is slower) and past the airport in the direction of  Greenock.

If coming from Stranraer or Prestwick Airport take the A77 towards Glasgow and after Newton Mearns turn left onto the A726 towards Paisley and follow signs to Glasgow Airport and take the M8 in the direction of Greenock.

From the south and east (continued)
Approx. 3.5 miles on the M8 after the Airport, take the exit onto the M898 over the Erskine Bridge (toll 60p).  Take the left fork off the bridge onto the A82 towards Crianlarich.  After 3 miles on the A82 (carrying straight on A82 at a roundabout midway), take the left filter at the traffic lights onto the A814 (for Dumbarton and Helensburgh).  Cardross village is about 4 miles past Dumbarton.  Now follow Village directions below.

From the north and west
Head for Helensburgh on the north bank of the Clyde - either following the A814 from Arrochar down the side of Loch Long, or taking the faster A82 road from Tarbet down the side of Loch Lomond past Luss and then right onto the B832.  At the bottom of the hill in Helensburgh turn left on to the A814.  Now follow Village directions below.

Village directions
At the west end of Cardross village, turn north off the A814 up Darleith Road (Hotel sign on floral triangular traffic island at the junction).  After about 750 metres (passing out of the main housing line) through trees and then with fields on either side, three cottages will be on your right.  Turn right into the drive of Kirkton House immediately after the third cottage.  About 100 metres up the drive, turn right up to the guest car park for the hotel entrance.  Please park facing into, or out from, the dry stone wall.

To aid luggage handling from the car park to the hotel front door, there is a trolley in the porch (please return to porch after use).  If you require assistance, please let us know.
