Lagganholm (built in 1776) in Rural Ballantrae, is a cosy cottage offering bed and breakfast near Stranraer, surrounded by beautiful scenery including views of Ailsa Craig. It is a 5 minute walk to the village, across the river Stinchar bridge. The village of Ballantrae boasts a general store/post-office, hotel/restaurant,  Garage, Antique shop, Garden Centre/restaurant and the Thistle cafe. Lagganholm is situated off the A77, offering easy access to Stranraer and the Irish Ferries, Prestwick Airport, Turnberry Golf Course, Culzean Castle - and many beautiful gardens and historic sites both in South Ayrshire & Dumfries & Galloway. It is also situated on the start of the new Ayrshire Coastal Path Walk, for which a luggage service can be provided.

Lagganholm offers one spacious twin bedded room, with own use downstairs bath & shower room, and an upstairs toilet and washbasin facility. The bedroom has tea/coffee facilities, TV and hairdryer.

The lounge-dining room has oak beams, and has a woodburning stove, making for cosy evenings watching TV or enjoying board games (provided). Lagganholm  also has full central heating.

Afternoon tea or coffee can be served on the attractive patio, inclusive in the tariff. Full breakfast includes all or a choice of  Fruit Juice, cereal or porridge, Eggs /Bacon/Sausage/Mushrooms/Tomato, tea/coffee, toast (homemade bread) and home made marmalade!  Evening meal, if requested, is served with fresh vegetables and fruits from the garden when in season.
