The Old Mill Cottage is situated in the idyllic remote hamlet of North Duntulm on Trotternish, the craggy northern peninsula of Skye. The cottage overlooks the most northerly coast where whales and dolphins can often be seen swimming in the Gulf Stream. The setting is ideal for those with a romantic heart as the local 'fairy hills' of Trotternish are both strange and enchanting with discreet waterfalls and fairy pools that brim with wild flowers in the summer. There are also plenty of walks for all levels of ability, both locally and down through the famous rugged Cuillin hills (50 minutes drive away). This two storey renovated crofter's cottage is furnished in traditional pine; it is both modern and very well equipped to host up to six people. The cottage is beautifully decorated and airy.

Downstairs: Large and extremely well equipped Kitchen/Dining area with electric oven and hob, microwave oven, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine; Fully fitted Bathroom with a bath and overhead shower; Spacious Lounge with sea views, TV and VCR, Satellite TV, leather suite.
Upstairs: 2 single Bedrooms & 2 Double Bedrooms - both with ensuite bathrooms having electric power showers.

All electricity costs are included in the rental price; there is double glazing throughout the cottage and storage heaters in all areas. Linen is provided; there is also a payphone; substantial private parking.

Sorry No Pets are allowed in the Cottage

Excellent selection of local fresh food served locally at Flodigarry and Duntulm. Other restaurants are in Portree (capital town of Skye) about 30 minutes drive away. Portree also has petrol stations, banks, shops, a swimming pool, riding stables, arts and heritage centres. There is an outdoor activity centre about 20 minutes drive away towards Uig and a sandy beach at Staffin Bay. Local sea and inland fishing is excellent (in season) and there are abundant sea birds and wildlife to attract a keen eye.

Historic Duntulm castle is nearby as well as the Museum of Island Life and Flora MacDonald's monument. The dramatic Quiraing rock formation and The Old Man of Storr form the central spine of Trotternish and are only a short drive away, offering breathtaking views across Skye and walks along the Trotternish Ridge. The magical and eerie Fairy Glen also has fantastic views and lovely walks behind Uig (about 15 minutes drive away), where four waterfalls cascade down to a sunken valley below. The islands of the Outer Hebrides can be reached by daily ferries from Uig.
