The Old Mill Cottage Skye is 4 bedroomed (sleeping 6) luxury holiday cottage set in a rural crofting community in the north of Skye. This stylish modern cottage nestles comfortably near the coastal shores of Kilmaluag Bay on a quiet road overlooking the scenic village of Kilmaluag, not far from the ferry port of Uig and the beautiful Staffin Bay. It is a real get-away-from-it-all location, being situated at the north end of the island and thus avoids a lot of the main summer tourist traffic, yet is easily accessible from Portree and near the ferry port of Uig from where one can visit the Outer Isles. There is more than enough to keep a family occupied for a whole week in the locality. English and Gaelic are spoken giving an individual service.

The Old Mill Cottage is situated in the idyllic remote hamlet of North Duntulm on Trotternish, the craggy northern peninsula of Skye. The cottage overlooks the most northerly coast where whales and dolphins can often be seen swimming in the Gulf Stream. The setting is ideal for those with a romantic heart as the local 'fairy hills' of Trotternish are both strange and enchanting with discreet waterfalls and fairy pools that brim with wild flowers in the summer. There are also plenty of walks for all levels of ability, both locally and down through the famous rugged Cuillin hills (50 minutes drive away).  This two storey renovated crofter's cottage is furnished in traditional pine; it is both modern and very well equipped to host up to six people. The cottage is beautifully decorated and airy.

Downstairs:  Large and extremely well equipped Kitchen/Dining area with electric oven and hob, microwave oven, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine; Fully fitted Bathroom with a bath and overhead shower; Spacious Lounge with sea views, TV and VCR, Satellite TV, leather suite.
Upstairs: 2 single Bedrooms & 2 Double Bedrooms - both with ensuite bathrooms having electric power showers.

The Old Mill self catering cottage is a modern building with two of the four rooms fully en-suite. It is easily accessible from mainland Scotland via the Skye Bridge (now toll-free) and two ferries (Mallaig-Armadale and Glenelg-Kylerhea) and is just half an hour from the island capital, Portree. It is also only a short distance from the ferry terminal of Uig with regular crossings to the Outer Isles.

There is a patio with table and chairs at the side of the cottage, next to the river which is good for wild brown trout fishing, so you can barbecue your own catch! Full barbecue equipment and fishing rods are provided. It is a delightful peaceful spot to enjoy the sight and sound of the river and the birds. A wide variety of birds, from bluetits to buzzards can often be seen.  All electricity costs are included in the rental price; there is double glazing throughout the cottage and storage heaters in all areas. Linen is provided; there is also a payphone; substantial private parking.
