Tourism information Moray & Dufftown |
Situated in Scotland's north east corner, between the Cairngorms and the coast, Moray Cottages offers a fantastically central base for you to enjoy a range of diverse activities catering for all the family - glorious walks over hills, by clean rivers and along miles of empty sandy beaches.
There is a range of winter and summer activities at the Lecht and Glenshee ski centres. The area is a golfer's paradise with literally dozens of courses on which to test your skill.
There is Sea Fishing, Salmon & Trout Fishing. For those who like to get under the water, the Moray Firth offers some great Diving. We are keen fishers and own a small boat. We are delighted to be able to lend fishing equipment.
There is also shooting and stalking available, in season and we can help make arrangements with local estates.
Dufftown is Scotland's Malt Whisky Capital and the only place in the world that has a Malt Whisky Trail. If you've never visited a distillery then you're spoilt for choice with 6 in the immediate local area.
There are also many historical sites in the north east and a host of traditional fishing villages along the coast.
If you travel a little further, Inverness, Loch Ness, Fort Augustus or the Black Isle are an easy day trip. If you have come all this way, then John O'Groats is only a 3 hour drive.
