Pinewood Country Guest House offers an excellent standard of accommodation for visitors to St Andrews, home of golf – just 10 minutes drive away and the fishing villages of the East Neuk. It is centrally located for travel to Edinburgh, Perth, and Stirling all of which can easily be visited on a day trip. Dundee, City of Discovery, is just 7 miles away and is now officially recognised as the sunniest place in Scotland. This ensures that Pinewood enjoys a warm and mild climate.
Jim & Pam Davidson assure you of a very warm welcome to their unique and beautiful Edwardian home. Pinewood is set in its own grounds with copper beech tress and lawns in a lovely rural setting. The nearby Scots pines play host to a myriad of wildlife including red squirrels
The six spacious guest bedrooms all have ensuite facilities with shower / bath,
digital television with DVD player, hospitality tray with tea and coffee
and a hairdryer.
Breakfast is served in the beautifully presented dining room from an extensive menu. Special diets can be catered for on request.
Guests can relax and unwind in the Guest Lounge in front of an open
log fire in winter. Drying facilities and golf club storage are also provided.
Pinewood Country House was built in 1908 and was originally a cottage hospital. After the 2nd world war it became a children’s home and in the 1970s became a very popular hotel/restaurant. Now beautifully and lovingly restored it includes many original features including several fireplaces and carved hearts in the unique cedar wood staircase.
Tentsmuir forest and Kinshaldy beach are close at hand with memorable walks along the five miles stretch of unspoilt beach or on the many forest trails forming part of the Fife coastal path. A colony of seals can often be seen on the beach or on the sandbanks close to the waters edge.
Pinewood is set in Scotland’s premier golfing area with the six courses at St Andrews nearby. There are over 40 golf clubs in Fife and the local courses include, the open qualifying course at
Scotscraig, St Michaels and Drumoig. Carnoustie is just 35 minutes drive away.
