Ptarmigan Cottage, Skye is located within it's own secluded garden and is just 15 metres from the seashore by Broadford Bay on the Isle of Skye. The house has recently been transformed into a private one bedroomed cottage for that very special break for two. The interior work was completed to an extremely high standard - indeed by a ships carpenter - and the establishment has achieved the Scottish Tourist Board's highest accolade of 5 Star status. Why not book a holiday for just the two of you and spoil yourselves - you will not be disappointed. The master bedroom and the lounge enjoy truly outstanding open views over Broadford Bay and beyond. At high tide the sea is just a few metres away, while at low water it falls back some 100 metres or so. As the sea rises and falls an abundance of birds feed at the water's edge. These can be observed from the fireside, at close quarters using the binoculars and telescope provided. With it's central location Broadford itself is an ideal base for touring and enjoying the expanse and world beating scenery of the Isle of Skye - and the near mainland of Scotland. The village has a population of 1,000 and nestles below the 2,400 foot mountain of Beinn na Caillich which forms part of the world famous Cuillin range. There are restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance. If you want to be really lazy you could have breakfast within a 3 minute walk from the door! There is a Co-op supermarket in the village plus a 24 hour petrol station (they hire videos - and bicycles), a Post Office, a Bank and of course some shops, pubs and eating places.
