Summer or Winter, the Aviemore area offers an unequalled variety of activities to suit all tastes. More importantly, perhaps, the Hotel is ideally situated, allowing easy access to everything that’s going on.
Walking: There’s a superb selection of Munros, achievable within a day, together with a whole host of fine, lower level walks and forest trails.
Skiing: Just 30 minutes drive from the Hotel, Cairngorm is Scotland’s premier Ski Area , with 17 lifts and 30 runs of all grades. Downhill, Snowboarding, Telemark and Nordic skiing are all well catered for.
Watersports: abound close at hand, with sailing, canoeing and windsurfing at the Loch Insh & Loch Morlich centres.
Fishing: Some of Scotland’s finest salmon and trout fishing is on offer, with permits readily available which we’d be pleased to arrange for you. All types of field sports are available locally.
Golf: Within an hour’s drive there are 10 outstanding golf courses up to Championship standard. We are also happy to arrange green fees for you.
Pony trekking: for the novice and Hacking for the experienced rider are available at a number of local Centres.
Wildlife: We are surrounded by thousands of acres of moorland and forest, teeming with wildlife. The RSPB owns the nearby Loch Garten Nature Reserve, home of the world famous Ospreys. The Landmark Centre and The Highland Wildlife Park are both just a few minutes away.
The area offers a multitude of other attractions. The Strathspey Steam Railway, 4x4 Off Road Driving, Clay Pigeon Shooting and Gliding are all close at hand.
Drying facilities: When you return from a day outdoors, if you need them, the Hotel has excellent drying facilities and secure storage for your equipment.
