The Caird Hall in City Square, Dundee
|
Dundee is known as the “City of Discovery” and is situated on the banks of the River Tay on the east coast of Scotland. The city in past times was renowned for the three J’s – Jute, Jam and Journalism and is the home of Desperate Dan and The Beano. The comic book legends have been immortalised in bronze within the City Square’s pedestrianised precinct. In addition to Cow Pies, the city is infamous for Dundee Cake, Wallace’s Dundee Peh (Pie) and the slogan “E’ll hae eh peh!” (I'll have a pie!).
