The
Hill House was designed by Charles
Rennie Mackintosh and built at the turn of the century in
Helensburgh for the Blackie family. The Hill House, in
the same street as Balmillig, is only minutes walk away
and is open in the afternoon. The Art Nouveau style looks traditionally Scottish Baronial from the outside; inside is the wonderful mix of white, light pastel shades, and the fireplaces and furniture that has for many years make Mackintosh a household name. The Hill House is only open at certain times of the year. You will find it easy to visit when staying with us at Balmillig. |
