Situated on a strong site, Hollows Tower is a rectangular 16th-century tower house. It was a stronghold of the unruly Armstrongs after nearby Gilnockie Castle had been destroyed in 1523 by the English. Johnnie Armstrong of Gilnockie was hanged without trial by James V in 1530, with 50 of his family. The tower has been reroofed and restored, and is now occupied by the Clan Armstrong Centre.
