The present House of Dun, a fine classical mansion, was built in 1730 by the architect William Adam for David Erskine Lord Dun. The Erskine family held the lands from 1375, and had a castle here. One of the family was John Erskine, a scholar and reformer in the time of Mary, Queen of Scots. Fine plasterwork and a collection of portraits, furniture and porcelain. Walled garden and handloom weaving workshop. Disabled access and WC.

Open: Open Easter weekend, then daily May to September; open weekends in October. Garden and grounds open all year. Coaches by appointment only.
